My AC went out the end of July. I contacted AHS on August 1, they contacted a local AC company and a technician arrived on August 6. Said the unit was fixed, on August 9 I contacted the local company and said the AC was still not working. Another technician came out and said the control panel was malfunctioning. This company had the necessary part, but needed AHS okay to install it. The technician contacted AHS who told him they would mail the necessary part. It’s now September 18, the unit is not fixed. It is a AC/Heater unit – we went through blazing days of smoky heat with no relief, I called and was told the part was ordered and on it’s way 10 days out. Then the middle of August I was told 10 days out. I contacted AHS, I was given the run around by a person from the Philippians, no resolution. I called again after September 1 and was told the part was ordered – I wrote letters to corporate and then I got a message from Darika Dennis: Good afternoon Jenny, Thank you for your response. I just spoke with Aspen at ACI and the parts have been ordered. The ETA is next week, 9/23 and once they receive the parts, they will give you a call directly to schedule an appointment to complete the repairs. Sincerely, Darika Dennis | Executive Relations 1524 Highway 30 East | Carroll, IA 51401 Phone: 866-366-1533 Ext. 640 E: darika.dennis@ahs.com So this is now the 4th time I’ve been told 10 days out. I have waited 48 days It is getting cold, my husband has dementia and doesn’t understand why things aren’t working properly. I have called and called and written letters and now I am filing complaints.

Over 50% out of pocket expenses on a water heater “system” replacement. A $1500 job, they offer $950 out of pocket or $575 cash out. This is a usual electric tank water heater, the $950 is for inflated so called “modification/code/construction” to put back everything as it was with earthquake straps and pan… apparently per their contract. No transparency, murky terms… and I am a Realtor with 10 existing contracts with them, up to now. Good bye AHS.

I am an actual customer. My first claim was with a problem with my A/C. First, the do not offer 24/7 service as advertised. You can submit a claim 24/7 but no one will contact you on a weekend. They don’t answer phones during the weekend either. My A/C repair was dispatched and I was sent the information about the local repair company with “contact the directly at: ” blank – no phone number listed. I proceed to look them up on-line. They were 20 miles away with a 1 1/2 star review on Yelp. There were numerous complains about them. Because it was 90+ outside I ended up paying a local company to fix the A/C on that Saturday. Once fixed ($450 out of pocket) I cancelled the service requested and contact AHS on Monday. They said I should have waited until Monday and just gone without A/C for the weekend. The repair company did finally call me on Tuesday, AHS had not told them the service call was cancelled. For Pompano Beach FL, both their A/C company and now them Have the lowest possible ratings everywhere I look.

This company is a joke! They wouldn’t send someone out immediately when we had no heat in the winter said it could be 72 hours, the companies they send out are sketchy and do crap work, and it took 4 calls to cancel our warranty. They couldn’t get someone to come out in a timely manner so we paid over $10,000 out of pocket for a new furnace. This is just the most recent experience but they all have been negative!

If it were possible to give zero stars I would. The repairman that came to my home did do good work. My complaints are ll with AHS. It took five phone calls to try to get service. I had to repeat all the information each time. I was “accidentally” disconnected four times. When the repairman came he did not have the correct information for the service request. Even he had trouble on the phone trying to get the correct information. I then received a bill from the repairman. No explanation from him or AHS. I tried to call AHS to get clarification—same problem with calling in and getting disconnected several times with no answers to my questions. Now, I have just spent 45 minutes; been disconnected/transferred four times; given the wrong number to call twice; asked the same questions over and and over; and when I finally reached the correct department was told that although they just took the payment yesterday for the next month (April) that my service ends immediately, they will not refund the money they just took for April, and are charging an additional $11.15 admin fee to cancel my policy. I not only do not recommend AHS, I will go so far as to warn people away from them.
